Sent synopses for Blood Lust and The Carrion off to an agent last week. It starts again.

How do you chose an agent, I'm curious.
Best of luck.

A, B, C, D, E, F, G. Need I go on? Sorry. There are two books out there; The Writer And Artist's Handbook and The Writer's Handbook that list UK and US agents and publishers (and other stuff). Each entry specifies what genres they deal with. I used to pick which ones sounded best/nicest - now I'm staring at the beginning and working my way through. Seeing if anyone will have me

Fair enough.
I was just curious how you went about it.

Sanseng kindly plugged me to a a contact who then passed him the name of someone at Marjacq Scripts. Sent the package to him (namedropping as much as poss) only for it to be returned almost immediately with an automated print rejection.

Yah. It's all a bit boring. I'm going to break it down and send out Aftermath separately as it's more sci-fi than horror.

With Revelations done I've whipped up a synopsis and sent all 4 to Mic Cheetham Literary Agency.

And they got whipped back to me. However, it seems that the new approach may have had some affect as they sat on it for practically a month and the rejection letter wasn't a completely an auto-response.
So at least they might have bothered to read them.
Tomorrow they shall be sent out again to one of the two agents they suggested.

Sent back asking for sample chapters (I do not read this as a good thing just that I obviously hadn't submitted 'properly').

They could have just rejected you, be positive.

After a 'Treasurehunt' style hunt for decent envelopes around town yesterday I decided to not be clever and just send the whole lot off in one batch with just one SAE.
Hopefully the mrs has got down the Post Office today and I dread to think how much it'll cost.
Reply should be in 4 - 6 weeks apparently.
